Air Show
Scouts will be visiting the Air Show at Avalon this Sunday 18th February.
Meet at hall at 9am, bring day pack with cut lunch, snacks, water bottle, sun screen, camera, souvenir money, etc, full uniform required. You must have a broad-brimmed hat. Bring a waterproof coat if rain is forecast. We will return at approx 6pm depending on the traffic which is expected to be heavy. Phantom will have his mobile phone, 0414 717 286, so Parents should ring him after 5pm to get a more accurate return time. Any interested parents/family are welcome - we may need extra drivers so please see Phantom if you can help.
This was a great day out last time we visited with some spectacular stunt flying, including stalls, rolls and loops in an ordinary commercial twin engined aircraft - at low level with the engines off!
You can find out details of what's on show and see the daily program on the web at http://www.airshow.net.au/
Water Activities Camp
A couple of Scouts are required to volunteer to help plan the menu. No one rang Cyclo with an offer to help out, so we are not expecting to eat on the camp. Suffer Jenny Craig!
The camp will run from Friday night 2nd March until Sunday 4th March at the Rover Campsite on the shores of Lake Eppalock. Activities will include kayaking, canoeing, sailing, power boats & donuts or skiing, swimming, raft and coracle building, and there is time for lazing about too. In previous years this has been a very popular, exciting and fun camp. Plenty of shade if it is hot and a good covered area for meals if it is raining. BTW, Lake Eppalock was almost full last week! Don't forget your wetsuit, sunscreen and zinc.
In two Weeks - swimming night
In two weeks we will be going swimming together for fun, frolics and to make sure that you will be safe at the Water Activities Camp. Permission forms out tonight and due back next week. Cost $3.

Phantom will be following up the visit to the Air Show with some interesting activities which will lead you to your Air Activity Badge….
