Welcome Back
We hope you have all had fantastic holidays with lots of excitement and plenty of time for relaxation too. The leaders have met and have mapped out a fun and interesting program with challenges, games and camps for 2001. We are really looking forward to having you back with us in 2001. Our first night back will be a Water Night on Wed 31st January. This is out traditional "water activities and getting wet on dry-land" night. So come along and expect to get soaked and inflict a few soakings of your own along the way. We've got a couple of new activities to. No Uniform; please wear your scarf.

Please bring your super-soaker and other water pistols, and for "afters" a towel and a complete change of clothes including shoes. PLEASE ALSO BRING BACK YOUR 3 PERMISSION FORMS (details below). We have invited the Alpha Theta Rovers and Koorunga Venturers to join us.

Beach Scramble - Next Week

For our second week we will be going to the beach for a walk and cliff scramble at Black Rock. You will need to bring a day-pack and water bottle, bathers & towel and bring any light-weight beach games you may like to share. Please bring your permission form this Wednesday.
Please let your parents know that they may be needed to assist with transport. No charge.

Air Show

Scouts will be visiting the Air Show at Avalon on Sunday 18th February. This was a great day out last time we visited with some spectacular stunt flying, including F15's going from ground level to out-of-sight in 30 seconds. You can find out details of what's on show and see the daily program on the web at http://www.airshow.net.au/
Please bring your permission form this Wednesday. Cost for the day for scouts is $20.

Water Activities Camp

The Mount Waverley district water activities camp will be held from Friday night 2nd March until Sunday 4th March. We will be travelling to the Rover Campsite on the shores of Lake Eppalock. Activities will include kayaking, sailing, power boats & donuts or skiing, swimming, raft and coracle building, and there is time for lazing about too. In previous years this has been a very popular, exciting and fun camp.
Please bring your permission form this Wednesday. Cost for the weekend for scouts is $40.

Formula Bike

The PL's and APL's have set down a program for Formula Bike 2001. Our entry form has been registered already. The PL's and APL's want First Waverley to win! A training schedule will be published in a few weeks, but it will involve training rides for all participants on Tuesdays and Sundays for 3 or 4 weeks. More details later. The PL's suggest that you should start your own training now. Maybe you could ride to school, or to the shops, or drag mum and dad (or even Auntie Flo) out for a peddle on Saturdays.

Gang Show

If you would like to be in the 2001 Gang Show, please call (03)9889-1608 for information.
