Thanks to all the scouts who came along a helped out on Sunday night. It was good to see you all using your initiative to improve your sales. Well done, and a bit of fun for us all as well. Bonus!
Australia Day
Mount Waverley Scouts will be running a plaster painting activity at the Waverley Civic Centre from 5pm on Jan 26. You are welcome to come along in uniform to help out, and to participate in the "flag down" ceremony at dusk at 8.30.
Camp-Over at the Hall
It seems no-one is interested, so the camp-over will not happen.
Patrol Activities
At the last Troop Council, each patrol leader agreed to arrange a Patrol Activity. This could be a camp, an outing, community service or other activity. Talk to your PL today to find out what they have in mind. PL's are reminded that they need to tell Cyclo what they have planned.
Water Night - Wed 2nd Feb
Scouts resumes at the hall on Wed 2nd Feb. This will be a water night so bring along your super-soakers & water pistols. Also bring along your construction skills as we will be making ballistas and catpults for the delivery of home-made (IE folded paper) water bombs. Paper water bomb construction instructions available tonight. Rubber items such as water bombs and water-filled balloons are not welcome due to the nature and quantity of rubbish they create.
No thongs. Wear sandals or sneakers please. Please bring a towel and a change of clothes, including shoes. Wear your scarf please.
Ice Blocking - Monday 7th Feb
We will be joining in the with the 4/11 scouts (you know, the guys who use the hall on Mondays) on Monday 4th February for a helter-skelter night of down-hill ice-block riding at Templestowe. This will be a family night with a BY0 family picnic tea commencing at 6.30 pm. Younger & older brothers and sister are welcome to come along with your parents and slide away too. Details will be distributed at scouts on 2nd Feb, or ring Cyclo after the 2nd to confirm arrangements.
No thongs. Wear sandals or sneakers please. Please bring a towel and a change of clothes, including shoes. Wear your scarf please.
Farewell
Tonight we say goodbye to Julien Goodwin and Ben Stannard. Both boys have been very involved with their scouting. Julien has an illustrious history of attending most activities from ranging from camping and bushwalking through to XC skiiing, cycling and the Brisbane Jamboree. Julien starts year 10 in 2000 and intends to concentrate on his schooling in the future. Ben has been very involved, more than most, and is the only 1st Waverley scout to have recently participated in a Gang Show. Ben will be transferring to a troop close to his new home in Carrum Downs. We wish both Ben and Julien all the best for the future and long rewarding lives.
