Fri 10 Sep - Jamboree 2001
There will be an information night in the Hall at 7.30pm on Friday 10th September for parents & scouts to discuss the Sydney Jamboree which will be held from the 3rd to the 13th January 2001. We will talk about what you need to qualify to attend and also discuss fund-raising ideas to help keep the costs down.
Wed 15 Sep 99 – Casino Night – in Hall
Organised by Ben. Games of chance – Roulette, Crown & Anchor etc. Visitors, friends, parents etc welcome.
Going-up Day – Sat 4 Sep
Due to the rain the outing to Albert Park to watch the Scout Yacht Regatta had to be cancelled. Instead, in the true Scout tradition of improvisation, we had a bridge building exercise and a BBQ in the hall and made Neil Walker, Ross Laxton and Glynn Ferguson "walk the plank then jump" in going up from Cubs to Scouts. Thanks to all for attending and making the day a success.
Hall Opening and Working Bee
As you can see the renovations are almost finished. 4/11th will be moving into the hall soon and will be in residence next term – their Scouts will be on Mon night and Cubs on Tue night. A grand opening is planned for Saturday 23 October – a spit roast lunch is planned.
There will a Working Bee on Sunday, 19 September to spruce up the Hall and surrounds - see flyer for full details. It will start at 10am and a BBQ lunch will be provided. All Scouts and parents are encouraged to help out. Bring wheel barrows, spades, wood working tools, paint brushes etc. Jobs for all skill levels.
