Overnight Hike
Ask Thomas, Nathaniel or Joshua C how they enjoyed the overnight hike? They set a world record for descent from their camp site - I think it was because they were being chased by the SES. There will be Photos on the web site in the next few days.
Bike Hike
Announcing the "Queens End Rail and Bicycle Bash"
This will be a fully supported bicycle hike over the Queens Birthday weekend. The plan is to leave the scout hall at 8.30am Saturday and ride to Blackburn station. From there we will catch the Met and Puffing Billy trains to Gembrook. At Gembrook we will ride downhill to the scout camp at Gilwell. After spending a comfortable night camped out at Gembrook we will then ride across to Launching Place and then on the rail trail to Warburton where you will prepare a sumptuous feast. On the Monday we will ride from Warburton along the rail trail to Lilydale where we will catch another train back to Blackburn and then ride back to the scout hall.
A car and trailer will accompany the party, so you won't need to carry gear, and you will have the opportunity to "bale out" and be driven if you become too tired.
We will return in time for Tea on Monday. All on-road riding will be on quiet back roads. There is about 5km of unmade road. The rail trail is a firm crushed rock surface which is easy to ride on. You will need a bike with gears and wide tyres.
IF YOU WANT TO COME, take a form tonight and ring Cyclo by Sunday. Cost $35.

Thuma Yanka
You may have noticed a different masthead (title) on the newsletter.
The first to tell Cyclo the accurate meaning of Thuma Yanka will win a (small) prize. The prize is jackpotting each week. It is currently a crunchy bar, and a Mars bar
Hint - it's aboriginal, but not Wurrenjerri. You will find the answer in Queensland. It is something to do with Fire. Another hint next week.

Please ask your parents to contact Jodie Misson about helping the in op-shop between 21st June and 26th June. Donations of salable goods are also required. PTO for more info.
